AI marketing on AskThis

How to earn visibility in the AI era — get your content read, cited, and referred by AI engines, then measure it.

People increasingly ask AI instead of searching. AskThis helps your content win in that world — not by gaming anything, but by making your pages easy for engines to read, cite, and refer. This section is the strategy layer; each step links to the how-to.

The flywheel

  1. Get read — give answer engines clean, structured signals about each page with AI Graph tags and an llms.txt index.
  2. Get shared — the widget’s “Ask AI” buttons route your readers into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and more with a source-citing prompt. Turn them on in Configure buttons & engines.
  3. Get cited — when engines answer with your content, they cite you. Track it and your share-of-voice with Win AI citations.
  4. Get referred — cited answers send visitors back to you. That’s AI referral traffic.
  5. Measure — close the loop with the AI Intent Score, AI referrals, and benchmarking.

Where to start

New to this? Do the 5-minute get-cited setup first — it turns on the three things that matter most, then come back for strategy.

Why it’s different from classic SEO

Classic SEO optimizes for a ranked list of blue links. Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) optimizes for being the source an AI cites in its answer. The levers are related but not identical: structured ai:* metadata, a citable one-line summary, discoverable key pages, and measuring citations rather than rankings. AskThis gives you all four.
