Get cited by AI — the 5-minute setup
The three things to turn on so answer engines can read, cite, and route to your content.
Three settings do most of the work of making your content AI-visible. Here’s the fast path — each step links to its full guide.
1. Turn on AI Graph tags
AI Graph tags (ai:*) tell engines what a page is, the one-sentence summary to use, and who
to cite. AskThis proposes them from your scan — review and approve them under Prompts → AI
Graph.
The one that matters most
A concrete, non-promotional ai:summary is the single biggest lever — it’s the answer you
want models to quote. Describe what’s on the page in one sentence; skip superlatives.
2. Publish an llms.txt
llms.txt is a plain-text index that helps engines discover your key pages in the first
place. AskThis generates it from your scan — point your site’s /llms.txt at it.
3. Enable the “Ask AI” buttons
The widget’s AI buttons let your readers hand a page to an assistant with a cited prompt — every share is a chance to be cited. Choose your engines in Configure.
What’s next
That’s the foundation. Then:
- Win AI citations & share-of-voice — track who gets cited.
- Measure your AI marketing — see it working.
